VAT refund
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REQUESTING A VAT INVOICE CUM TAX REFUND DECLARATION
According to Circular No. 72/2014/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance on VAT refunds for goods purchased by foreigners and overseas Vietnamese who bring the goods with them upon exiting Vietnam, please follow these steps if you need to request a VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration:
1. Eligible Persons:Foreigners and overseas Vietnamese (except for members of flight crews and seafaring crews) who hold a valid passport or entry-exit document issued by a foreign country, use this document to enter and exit Vietnam, purchase goods in Vietnam, and take those goods out of Vietnam through VAT refund eligible border gates.
2. Notes and Requirements for Requesting a VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration:
Customers must inform the staff before the invoice is issued.
Some stores/centers may not yet be authorized to issue VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration, depending on the registration process with the General Department ofCustoms, or notifications from government agencies and Maison. Customers are advised to inquire with the staff for updates.
To ensure accuracy and security, Maison kindly requests that customers agree to provide information to the cashier and take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy, legality, and authenticity of the passport, entry-exit documents presented to the store when purchasing goods; the passport, entry-exit documents, goods, and the VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration presented to the customs authorities; and the documents presented to the commercial bank acting as the VAT refund agent are handled in accordance with regulations and efficiently.
Note:
- Maison does not allow returns or exchanges for items purchased with a VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration.
- Maison and its affiliated stores are not responsible for the VAT refund process and related procedures after the purchase.
- You may refer to legal regulations under Circular No. 72/2014/TT-BTC and follow the necessary steps to request a VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration in accordance with the law.
- Maison will issue a VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration upon issuance of the sales invoice. This request can only be made within the same day the sales invoice is issued.
3. Steps to Request a VAT Refund:
Step 1:Please inform the staff of your need for a VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration when purchasing at a store authorized to sell VAT refund-eligible goods before the invoice is issued.
Step 2:You must present a valid passport or entry-exit document issued by a foreign authority (original) to the store staff.
Step 3:The store staff will update the information from your passport, entry-exit documents, and goods to process the VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration in accordance with the system's regulations.
Step 4:VAT invoice cum Tax refund declaration will be issued, printed, and stamped at the store within an estimated time of 15-30 minutes, depending on the processing time between the invoice provider and the tax authority. If you need to receive an electronic invoice, please request the staff to send the invoice back via the provided email.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REQUESTING VAT INVOICE
If you would like to request a VAT invoice, please follow these steps:
Step 1:Notify the staff of your request for a VAT invoice at the time of purchase.
Step 2:Provide complete and accurate information necessary for the issuance of the invoice, including:
- Company or individual name.
- Verified Tax identification number (applicable to business customers).
- Address.
- Email address to receive the invoice.
Step 3:The staff will confirm the invoice information with you and proceed to issue the invoice in the system.
Step 4:The invoice will be issued and sent to the registered email address.
Note:
- Maison will issue the VAT tax invoice immediately upon issuance of the sales invoice.
- To ensure accuracy and security, Maison kindly requests your cooperation in providing complete and accurate information to the cashier.
- The VAT invoice will be issued as an e- invoice and sent to the email address you provided.
- If you need further assistance, please contact Maison's Customer Care department for support and verification.
